 Vince DiLorenzo

Vince DiLorenzo played football for West Rome High School in Rome, Georgia. He also played at Jacksonville State University between 1973-76.

In 1980, he began his coaching career as an assistant at Gadsden High School. In 1984, he was named the head football coach at Gadsden where he remained for the next 17 seasons.

His teams won six area and region championships and qualified for the playoffs in all but four seasons. The Tigers won the 1986 State Championship by defeating Homewood 13-7 in the title game.

His 1991 team finished 14-0 and beat Blount for the championship 20-7. It was the first 10-0 regular season at the school and the first team to win 14 games.

DiLorenzo left Gadsden after the 2000 season to be the first head football coach at Spain Park High School. Over six seasons, he led the Jaguars to a 24-20 record, including appearances in the state playoffs in 2003 (with no seniors) and 2004.

He resigned after the 2005 season to spend more time with his family. He returned to the sidelines the next year and accepted an assistant position at Coosa Valley Academy.

DiLorenzo became the head football coach at Coosa Valley Academy prior to the 2009 season. He stayed for two seasons with a 19-6 record and the AISA Class A State Championship in 2010, his last as a head coach in Alabama.

He landed the head coaching job at Woodland High School in Cartersville, Georgia in 2011 where he remains entering the 2013 season. His first two teams finished with a combined 6-24 record.
